Melinda has been in love with fabric all of her life and art became her major in college. She worked in the interior design field for 15 years as a fabric and wallpaper designer and her work has been featured on the covers of Better Homes and Garden and Sunset magazine in addition to other noted publications. she currently is expressing her artistry in quilting and wearable arts, which has always been her first love. Her sense of color and design has won her numerous awards for both quilts and wearable arts.
Her first book on her Fabulous Fusible Flower technique, Cutting Garden Quilts, was released in December, 2007.

Turn a favorite flower photo into a Fabulous Fusible Flower art quilt. Learn how to use fabric and thread, as an artist uses paint and pencil, to create a beautiful art quilt using only fabric, thread and fusing. We will start with your own flower subject matter and break it down into simple shapes to build upon. You will look through the eyes of an artist as you learn their techniques for color, layout and design while developing your own creative style. Next, you will learn how to finish your flower using Melinda’s technique, Renegade Thread Play, which is a simple method of free motion quilting.
